When the band participated in the TV show “Nya ansikten” (New faces) from Gothenburg in 1962, they took on space suits that they borrowed from a revue by Povel Ramel.

Uppträdandet skedde i staden Reims i en biografsalong vid namn “L’Empire” som idag heter “Gaumont”.

An odd photo from France in 1964 – The Spotnicks with Björn Thelin, Derek Skinner and Bo Winberg and also, most likely, Bruce Baxter who replaced Bob Lander during this tour.
The performance took place in the city of Reims in a cinema hall called “L’Empire” (today named “Gaumont”).

Platsen är en gymnastikhall för militärgarnisonen och som var ett mycket populärt dansställe som lockade de bästa banden i Sverige varje helg – The Spotnicks var frekventa gäster under 60-talet.
The place is a gym for the military garnison which became a very popular dance floor every weekend with the best bands in Sweden performing – The Spotnicks was a frequent guest during the 60’s.

The Spotnicks meets Valentina Tereshkova in Stockholm, April 22, 1966
Den 22 april träffas The Spotnicks och den första kvinnliga kosmonauten Valentina Tereshkova när hon medverkar vid en Rymd-Expo på Tekniska Museet och där The Spotnicks uppträdde. Till hennes ära spelade de ”Vostok 6” (Sentimental Guitar). Redan 1963 hedrades Valentina genom att låten ”Save The Last Dance For Me” fick hennes förnamn som låttitel på LP’n ”In Spain”.
On April 22, The Spotnicks and the first female cosmonaut Valentina Tereshkova meets when she participates at a Space Expo at the Technical Museum in Stockholm, where The Spotnicks performed. To her honor they played “Vostok 6” (Sentimental Guitar). Already in 1963, Valentina was honored by the song ‘Save The Last Dance For Me’ was given her first name as the song title of the LP “In Spain”.
