1962-05-08 — 07-08, CASA LEON, BERLIN
It was in the spring, probably in April 1962, that a twistgala in Eriksdalshallen in Stockholm was supposed to be The Spotnick’s last gig. It was the only one Stikkan Andersson, who was then their manager at the time (later manager of ABBA), had managed to arrange.
In the room, however, was Roland Ferneborg who liked what he heard and from that moment he became The Spotnick’s new manager with all that meant for their career for many successful years to come.
At his summer place ”Dunderbo” (Thundernest) the members got to practice their performance and after some time Roland arranges a long-term engagement at the nightclub Casa Leon in Berlin where they basically played nonstop for several hours, six days a week in May – July 1962. This is where they laid the foundation for being so tight musically.
Below is a copy of the original of the settlement between The Spotnicks and the nightclub, as well as a transcript in German and a translated text into Swedish.
